- When to expect a decision: estimates from real applications. See this week's processing times.

- Everything else gun owners need: renewal reminders, a mock theory test, the RangeWatch ballistic calculator, an encrypted document wallet and a firearm value checker.
Don't have a reference number yet?
SAPS usually sends it by SMS after you hand in your application. No SMS? Ask the DFO at the police station where you applied. Take your ID and your receipt. New to the process? Read how to get a firearm license, step by step.
What is SAPS FLASH?
FLASH (Firearms, Liquor and Second-Hand Goods Control) is the part of SAPS that handles firearm licensing. Its online status enquiry is where your status comes from. LicenseWatch checks it for you automatically. How to check it yourself.
